Hi! Any tips for matching up the stripes on the top and bottom for the window cushion when making that? And also, will the stuffing of the window cushion not dip/squash over time? Is a rectangle bit of foam not better? I’ve made an L bench for our dining room and now looking at cushions but they’re so expensive! Thank you!

I pinned all the fabric and then turned a bit of it to make sure it was all aligned. It took a bit of time because I’m not an expert by any means 😂 but it worked in the end. HOWEVER If you don’t want to make a full on cushion another cheat tip is to use a fitted sheet and then attach the fabric to the fitted sheet with a couple of stitches and pull it over the foam. OR you could always cut out a piece of thick cardboard (or better wood) to the shape of your cushion and nail in the fabric to that (have not tried it but seen others do it).

In regards to stuffing, I used upholstery foam - the softest one and then cut it out to the shape of the bench. It has not dipped and if anything I’d probably go double up on it to make it even more softer (my next project). There’s the reel where I show the whole process and where I cut the foam: https://www.instagram.com/reel/CzmPmq2r1M1/

🤎 really was a dream to have one! I’m going to make one more in one of the spare rooms, so good for storage and coziness! Any suggestions on colour? Would be in the room with the flowery wallpaper 🥰

Can't wait to see what you chose! That wallpaper has lilac and green in it right? I wonder if a lilac undertone window seat would be too out there! Maybe like F&B peignoir or calluna?! Well, whatever you choose its going to be a beaut
