The Autumn Edit
Let’s dive into all things watching, wearing, listening, making and reading this November.
Bonjour November! The month where we officially accept that it is time to unleash our inner hermit and nest like we just won the hibernation lottery!
While I’m not a huge fan of the time change and the shorter days, the chilly weather certainly encourages us to cosy up at home and disconnect from the outside world. Let’s be honest: November is the perfect excuse to put on our fluffiest socks, wrap ourselves in a blanket that feels like a warm hug, and have a Netflix marathon until we forget what daylight looks like. As I write this, I’m questioning my sanity because it doesn’t sound all that appealing! Darkness, fluffy socks, and the cold— love how this optimistic start took a dark and twisted turn!
Now, now … while it is true that I feel most like myself basking in the sunshine, this time of the year is actually my favourite in Scotland. I love leaning into being at home more, cooking, meeting friends in a cosy pub, country walks, lighting the fire and sorting things out at home. Home is changing drastically and we’re currently redoing a bathroom, living room and utility room. I had a bit of a summer renovation fatigue, but October and November have ignited the spark for renovation once again!
In the spirit of autumn and hibernation, here’s my big autumn special. So let’s dive into all things watching, wearing, listening, making and reading this November.
Wearing
Scotland is absolutely stunning this time of year! The ever-changing colours and the mild weather, with just a hint of chill in the air, make it the perfect time to layer up. And you know how much I adore layering! It’s funny to think about my style journey—there was a time when black was basically my wardrobe's best friend. I never imagined I'd embrace bright and colourful pieces. Now, it’s actually quite rare to catch me in an all-black outfit! These days, I’m obsessed with cosy pastel knits, high-waisted jeans; they go perfectly with everything and keep me comfortable throughout the day. I’ve also been loving my ankle boots; they add just the right amount of flair and are great for transitioning from day to night. So here are some of my go-to items for this autumn and winter!
