#35 The bathroom redo with video details so far and the easiest and tastiest banana bread on this earth.

I wish I could kick this post off with some magical after shots of our bathroom (don’t be fooled by the pic below!) - the one that’s been in the works since October 2024 - but alas, we are not there yet. Not even close (inser crying emoji!).

If you’ve been following along, you might remember the bathroom debacle I mentioned back in February. Well, consider this the extended director’s cut. I thought I’d share a proper update: the plans, the current state of chaos (with photographic and video evidence of bare walls to prove it), plus a peek at the tiles, colours, and all the good stuff still to come.

I think the reason this project hit so hard is because we didn’t see the horrors until the very end - when the lights were installed and the entire bathroom was already fitted. I’d been walking around for weeks envisioning myself soaking in the bath (see photo), lighting a little fire, gazing out over the garden. It was supposed to be my dream bathroom. Inspired by my family home in France: tiles, patterns, fleur de lis, softness, calm, burgundy, beauty. Opulent and decadent, but with a contemporary twist.
